    • Abstract:
In the last 230 years, eucalyptus trees have been used on five continents as species for obtaining cellulose and wood, with eucalyptus plantations currently covering more than 22,000,000 ha on the planet. These plantations have had a positive impact on the development of the pulp industry and, in some areas, on the profitability of forest producers, but they have also generated important impacts and social and environmental problems in the different continents where they have been established.
