      The article focuses on Italy and its intention to own African territories to acquire raw materials needed for manufacturing goods. Italy, led by then-leader Benito Mussolini, had sought to own African territories including Somaliland and Ethiopia, wherein the latter had become valuable due to its oil resources. The Italian colonization of African nations, along with the German plan to form an empire in Europe and the Japanese occupation of Manchukuo, had led to World War II, due to the alliance of 3 countries against France, Great Britain and the U.S.
