      The article explores the efforts to conserve orcas or killer whales in British Columbia. Orcas have been facing threats due to salmon stock decline, habitat disturbance and the pollution of oceans. In response, the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) has introduced measures to protect the animals, including addressing the issue of salmon scarcity by restoring their damaged habitats.
