  The article analyzes the film "The Lighthouse" directed by Robert Eggers. Topics discussed include the literary influence of the Cthulhu Mythos of author H.P. Lovecraft's dread-laden allegorical fiction, the monologues in author Herman Melville's Moby-Dick and admiration for symbolist art by Eggers taken from Sascha Schneider's painting Perseus and Andromeda.
