    • Abstract:
This document is a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) reviewing the audit of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute's (PCORI) fiscal year 2023 financial statements. PCORI was created by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) as a federally funded nonprofit corporation. The report states that an independent public accounting firm issued an unmodified opinion on PCORI's financial statements, indicating that they were presented fairly. The report also mentions that no deficiencies in internal control over financial reporting or reportable noncompliance were identified. PCORI agreed with the report's conclusions. The GAO's objective was to review the results of PCORI's financial statement audit, and based on their limited procedures, they did not identify any significant issues. PCORI and the accounting firm had no comments on the draft report. The full report is available on the GAO website. [Extracted from the article]
