General Summary:
The Accountant, under the general direction of the Finance Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions to include accounts payable and cash receipts. They also oversee monthly accounting functions to include account reconciliations and journal entries. The Accountant is the direct contact for branch staff and should have a strong customer service and accounting background to be able to answer questions and concerns from branch staff. The Accountant will also serve as backup support to the Payroll and Procurement specialists as needed.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
· Process invoices for all purchases made by CCPL departments
· Create accounts payable checks weekly
· Create and maintain vendor files, both electronic and physical
· Process and issue 1099s at year end
· Verify statements for major vendors and report missing invoices to appropriate staff
· Answer staff and vendor questions regarding payment status and procedures
· Receive and process cash deposits from branch staff promptly
· Record deposits into the financial software in accurate and timely manner
· Maintain accurate records in the Point-of-Sale software used by branch staff
· Answer staff questions regarding deposit procedure or Point-of-Sale software
· Coordinate monthly pickup of cash receipts by armored vehicle vendor
· Assist external auditors with supporting materials and other necessary data
· Reconcile bank accounts, commercial card accounts, and Point-of-Sale income to general ledger
· Investigate cash receipt or AP check discrepancies and report findings to Finance Manager
· Identify, develop, and implement procedures and techniques to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy
· Order and maintain supply stock for Finance and HR general use
· Train and provide support under the Payroll specialist in the future (once comfortable with primary duties)
· Train and provide support under the Procurement Coordinator in the future (once comfortable with primary duties)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word required
· Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and associated applications
· Knowledge of Adobe Pro
· Experience with financial accounting software
· Effective oral and written communication skills
· Able to manage multiple tasks with variable deadlines
· Flexibility in working with others in Finance and other departments
· Strong work initiative and ethical background
· Working knowledge of accounting and office terminology, procedures, and equipment
· Resourceful, orderly, logical, and accurate
· Willingness to learn roles and responsibilities outside of job title to better support coworkers and CCPL as a whole
· Willing to use personal device for Dual Factor Authentication for various accounting related portals
Work Environment:
Job duties are typically performed in an office setting while sitting or standing at a desk. Work may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Repetitive motions include typing, mouse movement, stapler use, and handwriting. Occasional travel to branches or county facilities for meetings or training opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Associates degree of higher in Accounting or related field
· 2+ years of related work experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, general accounting
· Ability to interpret accounting reports and records
· Ability to analyze data for control and reporting purposes

$56,513.60 - $63,648.00 annually commensurate with education and experience.
