MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - Staff members at Wando Mount Pleasant Library are working Friday morning to pick up the messes made by stuffed animals left overnight in the library.
The animals were invited to a special storytime with their favorite children Thursday evening, and were going to be allowed to spend the night in the library without supervisions. However, that was contingent on the animals not throwing a wild party.
After security officers opened the branch doors this morning to make sure the building was safe, they found the animals had spent the night redecorating. What follows is a list of issues security personnel found:
- There were puppies in the automaic book return. Because puppies do not have RFID chips, they do not belong in the automatic return.
- All of the furniture in the oculus had been removed and replaced with a puppet show.
- There was a layer of potato chip crumbs two inches thick in the staff kitchen.
- The dividing wall in the Community Room was halfway down and Santa Claus was hanging upside down from it.
- All of the pieces from all of the puzzles are in one big pile on the main desk in Children's.
- Surveillance video showed a frog, a puppy in a blue shirt, and a whale leading a team of animals breaking into the vending machines. All of the machines are empty now.
Here are some of the photos obtained by security.
