Description

Dr. Everette F. Platt is an educator and instructional leader with more than twenty years of experience in literacy development, curriculum design, and professional learning across K–12, higher education, and nonprofit settings.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Platt worked closely with the National Center for Families Learning, helping to design and sustain family literacy initiatives that supported both children and adults. That experience continues to shape her belief that strong communities are built when learning is accessible, relational, and responsive to real needs.

Dr. Platt holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and is deeply committed to public education, lifelong learning, and civic engagement. She values libraries as essential community spaces—places that foster curiosity, provide refuge from rhetoric, and invite people from all walks of life to engage ideas with civility, empathy, and hope. She is honored to serve on the board of the Charleston County Public Library and is grateful for the opportunity to support its mission of learning, access, and community connection.

Dr. Platt was appointed to the CCPL Board of Trustees in December 2025.
