The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (SC DEW) is now offering emergency unemployment benefits. The Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) is available for up to 13 additional weeks of insurance funds for those who have depleted all their regular unemployment insurance assistance.

As of May 20th, 2020, nonprofit organization SC Thrive is offering a Rental Assistance program. This program, produced in partnership with the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority, is intended for citizens of South Carolina who are struggling to pay for housing as a result of coronavirus.
They say it is in the worst of times that the best in us shows up. A community of agencies are rising to occasion and offering at helping hand to those in need. The Workforce Development Team has culled a list of organizations that are providing food, health & hygiene supplies, financial support services and healthcare assistance.
