CHARLESTON, S.C. - With our libraries closed due to the pandemic, we were unable to issue regular library cards in our buildings. As a result, we began offering temporary eCards as a way to allow patrons to access our eResources (e.g. databases, eBooks and audiobooks, streaming services, etc.). We are excited to welcome our patrons back into many of our libraries! We are now able to issue library cards at the following locations:

We are asking our eCard holders to visit one of the above branches before Sept. 30 to transition their eCards to a regular library card, in order to gain full access to all our collections and avoid losing access to CCPL’s eResources. During your visit, we will ask for a valid picture ID, proof of street address (if not on your picture ID), and proof of membership in any of the following categories if you are not a Charleston County resident: Charleston County business owner, student or teacher of accredited K-12 grade school, member of the military, and employee of Charleston County. We will also ask for you to sign our borrower’s agreement.

Information about our branches, including addresses, phone numbers, and current operating hours, can be found at ccpl.org. We look forward to transitioning your eCard soon!
