Mt. Pleasant Library - Throughout the months of May and June, the Mt. Pleasant Library will be hosting a series of Mental Health Talks on a variety of topics on Saturdays. This series is for adults. The branch is located at 1133 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant.

May 6  from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

Adverse Childhood Experiences: Licensed Professional Counselor Irene Lagan Chambers, M.S., will discuss adverse childhood experiences and how they affect one's adult life. 

May 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Neurological Intelligence: Unblock Your Full Potential:  Glenn  S. Cohen, renowned master neurological life coach, will share his methods of coaching to manage and lessen internal and external conflicts.

May 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Stress and Anxiety: Identification and Tools to Manage Them: Psychologist Michele Akers-Woody, Psy.D., will share the tools to learn how to identify stress and anxiety and how to manage them.

June 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 

Trauma: Identify It and Deal with It: Psychiatrirst Rukhsana Mirza, MD, will explore trauma and its consequences, providing the right tools to make it more manageable. 

June 3 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. 

Antidotes to Modern Life Stressors: Licensed Professional Counselor, Cynthia Lenehan, will share her wisdom on what our ancestors can teach us about mental health. She will equip us all to better deal with the different daily life stressors and situations.
