Field trips are a great way to get out of school, and kids love them for that reason. But zoos are also full of educational resources at every enclosure and during every show. Just because you're locked away in your homes for weeks doesn't mean your kids have to give up field trips or learning about their favorite animals.

Virtual Visits from the South Carolina Aquarium

Become a digital explorer and discover all of the complex habitats South Carolina has to offer, and the fascinating animals that call it home, guided by an educator trained in STEM-based learning. Interact with us as we move through the Aquarium and participate in outdoor activities to keep you and your kids engaged and involved.

Join us for a virtual visit each weekday at 10 a.m. EST on Facebook and then at 1 p.m., keep an eye out for our Family Nature Challenges!

Cincinatti Zoo

Every weekday afternoon the Cincinatti Zoo is providing a live feed inside the zoo to allow people to meet the animals under their care. Each episode features a different animal, and viewers have already met a hippo named Fiona and a porcupine named Rico. The handlers talk about the animals, their habits, and more.

CCPL will be working on a companion series of books that can be found in our digital resources, so every day after the live stream ends, you can introduce your children to more information about the featured animals through books and stories.
