Alessa Bertoluzzi

Alessa Bertoluzzi grew up in New Jersey spending summers in England with her grandmother.  She has an Associates Degree in Information Processing (computer programming) and worked for a short time in Manhattan before moving to Antigua.  When she returned to the United States she settled in Naples, Florida where she began a 27 year involvement in the automotive repair industry and ultimately owned businesses there and in Summerville, SC.  She raised her two children in Summerville and then retired to Edisto Island.

Her civic involvement began 25 years ago when she joined the Summerville-Dorchester Museum Board as Treasurer.  She served for 10 years (5 as president) and on the Board of the Challenger Division of Little League Baseball where her autistic son played for many years while also participating in the Summerville Preservation Society.  Since moving to Edisto Island in 2016 she has arranged many events for the community.  Her favorite pastimes are photography, birding and spending time with her grandchildren instilling a love of history and patriotism. 

Alessa was appointed to the CCPL Board of Trustees in December 2024.
