Biography:

Geraldine L. Riley is a retired educator from Charleston County School District. Gerri obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood from Claflin University and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Administration and Supervision from The Citadel. As a result of her additional course work in the area of Reading through Clemson and The University of South Carolina, she is also certified by the S.C. Department of Education as a Reading Specialist. During her 39 years of service in education, she received both the Teacher of the Year and Distinguished Reading Teacher of the Year awards.

Gerri is a member of the Line Street Church of God, where she is the organist. She serves as Vice President of The Christian Women Connection for the state of South Carolina, as well as President of The Orangeburg District CWC. Gerri is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

When she is not occupied with community and civic duties, Gerri enjoys spending quality time with her family. A native Charlestonian, West Ashley is where she has called home for the past 38 years.

Gerri was appointed to the CCPL Board of Trustees in September 2018.
