CHARLESTON, S.C. – On Tuesday, July 6, the Folly Beach Library, located at 55 Center Street, will once again allow patrons inside the facility, offering limited in-person services such as browsing, mobile printing, computer use, and notary appointments, as well as a small number of outdoor programs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the branch has been closed to the public since last spring, offering only curbside pickup of library materials.

The library will be open to the public during the following hours:

  • Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Closed on Wednesday and Thursday
  • Friday, 1 – 5 p.m.
  • 2nd and 4th Saturday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (closed the 1st and 3rd Saturday)
  • Closed on Sunday

The Edisto and McClellanville libraries also recently opened for limited in-person services. Library operating hours and available services for these and other branches are subject to change. For a complete list of branch hours and services, visit ccpl.org/branches or contact the branch by phone.

CCPL continues to follow CDC and Charleston County guidance to ensure all patrons and staff are protected against the spread of COVID. Per a Charleston County requirement, masks are optional for fully vaccinated patrons and staff. Patrons are required to wear a mask if they are receiving one-on-one/extended service (e.g. notary services) in which the patron is requesting more than 15 minutes of assistance and/or are closer than six feet. Staff may refuse one-on-one service to patrons who do not wear a mask.

Though patrons may now enjoy outdoor programs, in-branch programs and room bookings remain suspended. However, virtual programs will continue on our website, where you can access a calendar of virtual events, and on our Facebook page.

For continued updated and information on CCPL operations, visit ccpl.org, contact your local library branch, or connect with the library on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
